E-LSA Transition Exemption

The FAA has granted an E-LSA transition exemption allowing owners of N-numbered (registered) experimental light-sport aircraft to obtain an airworthiness certificate after the regulatory deadline of January 31, 2008.

However, you must meet the following requirements to qualify for the exemption:

  • You must be a current EAA member.
  • You must receive an authorization letter from EAA.
  • Your aircraft must have been registered with the FAA on or before January 31, 2008, or the FAA must have received your registration application on or before January 31, 2008.
