12/16/04 - EAA-REGISTERED ULTRALIGHT PILOTS CAN REQUEST CERTIFIED RECORDS ONLINE
Ultralight pilots and instructors registered with EAA on or before September 1, 2004, can now request a copy of their certified training records through the EAA website. Pilots must present these records before they take the FAA knowledge and/or practical tests for a sport pilot or sport pilot instructor certificate. To obtain your EAA certified training records, visit the Records Request Form page. FAA sport pilot and instructor knowledge tests can now be taken at FAA authorized testing centers. Present a copy of your certified training records to the knowledge-testing site to meet the pre-qualification requirement to take the test. See a complete list of authorized CATS and LaserGrade testing sites.
To see a sample database of test questions you will be asked, visit Sport Pilot Questions or, Sport Pilot Instructor Questions.
FAA sport pilot and instructor practical tests cannot yet be taken. The FAA plans to train the initial group of FAA Sport Pilot Examiners (SPE), and Sport Pilot Flight Instructor Examiners (SFIE) in January 2005. Once the SPEs and SFIEs are in place, individuals can use their certified training records as the pre-qualification to take their practical test with an examiner. The examiner will then be authorized to issue your pilot or instructor certificate. |
