02/14/05 - EIGHT MORE SPE CANDIDATES NAMED
Eight individuals have accepted the invitation to participate in the second sport pilot examiner (SPE) course, to be held in Sebring, Florida, on March 21-26. Marty Weaver, manager of FAA’s Light-Sport Aviation Branch, announced the candidate’s names today.
The eight include five EAA ultralight instructor/examiners: John Ballantyne, Union Bridge, Maryland, weight-shift control (WSC); Sean Curry, Wautoma, Wisconsin, airplane single-engine (ASE); Earl Downs, Cushing, Oklahoma, ASE; James Leon, Peotone, Illinois, powered parachute (PPC); and James MacLeay, Morristown, Tennessee, PPC. The three other participants are: Charles Burgoon, Houston, Texas, WSC; Robert Comperini, Lancaster, California, ASE; and George Methvin, Marietta, Georgia, ASE.
