09/16/05 - SPORTRIDER RECEIVES FAA S-LSA CERTIFICATION

AveoUSA's SportRider became the 15th plane aircraft to received special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA) certification from the FAA on Thursday, September 15. The SportRider is manufactured in the Czech Republic, marketed by FlyItalia/Gryfair, and distributed in North America by AveoUSA, Boerne, Texas.
The all-metal airplane features composite cowlings and covers. Standard engines are the Rotax 912 UL (80 hp) and 912S (100 hp), paired with a variable-pitch (SR200), 3-blade propeller. Top speeds are 137 and 138 mph, respectively. As an option, the wings can be quickly folded to the tail and horizontal tail surfaces can be dismounted for easy transportation or storage. The SportRider can also be ordered with a BRS parachute recovery system.
The tricycle landing gear has a steerable nose wheel, and the front wheel leg and fork are welded from steel tubes.
Inside is a 46-inch wide cabin with full cockpit upholstery and adjustable seats. The instrument panel has AveoMax all-digital flight and engine instruments, electric trim and flaps. Flap lever, trim lever, and throttle are placed on the central column. A wireless comm system is also available.
The SportRider, which appeared at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh's LSA Mall this year, will appear at the Light-Sport Expo in Sebring, Florida, October 27-30. For more information, visit www.aveousa.com. |
