11/22/05 - EAA SPORT PILOT TOUR PREPARES FOR BUSY WEEK
Southern California has always been one of the nation’s leading recreational aviation hotbeds, and next week EAA presents several opportunities for members and other enthusiasts there to learn the latest about sport pilot/light-sport aircraft. Preceding the fifth EAA Sport Pilot Tour stop at Camarillo Airport (CMA) Saturday, December 3, EAA will hold two chapter-hosted sport pilot informational gatherings—Tuesday, November 29, by chapter 7 at Long Beach Airport (LGB), and Wednesday, November 30, by chapter 1 at Flabob Airport (RIR).
Ron Wagner, manager of EAA field relations, will present Sport Pilot Rule details and lead discussion about unique opportunities available for EAA chapters. Both chapter events begin at 7 p.m.
At the Sport Pilot Tour stop Saturday at Camarillo, EAA’s Earl Lawrence, vice president of government relations, and sport pilot consultant Dan Johnson join Wagner for a day of presentations, questions and answers, airplane exhibits, and flight demonstrations. EAA Chapter 723 will serve as host of the event.
“For the many, many people who have dreamed of learning to fly or getting back into aviation at an affordable level, now is the time,” Wagner said. “The EAA Sport Pilot Tour opens the possibilities of personal flight to individuals and lets them know how to get started.” |
