06/11/06 - EAA SPORT PILOT TOUR VISITS MINNEAPOLIS AREA AUGUST 19
EAA’s traveling road show, the Sport Pilot Tour, resumes in the Minneapolis area on Saturday, August 19, at the AirLake Airport (LVN), Lakeville, Minnesota. EAA Chapter 25 (Minneapolis) will host the event that will feature a dozen or more light-sport aircraft (LSA) models on display, along with manufacturer’s representatives allowing attendees to “kick the tires” and find out more about the fast-growing aviation segment.
EAA’s Ron Wagner will make several forum presentations throughout the day, including a general overview of SP/LSA; medical issues; maintenance requirements; and things to know for potential LSA buyers. Also appearing will be LSA authority Dan Johnson, who will give a description of the aircraft on display and be on hand to answer questions.
EAA Senior Vice President Bob Warner plans to attend to meet and greet EAA members and other attendees. EAA will again issue free sport pilot student pilot certificates to members.
Demo flights may be available, conducted solely by the manufacturers representatives at their discretion. Demo flights are arranged directly with each individual exhibitor. The event will take place beginning at 9 a.m. at the airport’s Aircraft Resource Center, through the late afternoon.
