09/07/06 - CALIFORNIA AB-DAR COMPLETES ONLINE COURSE FOR LSA INSPECTIONS
Amateur-built Designated Airworthiness Representative (AB-DAR) Robert Hayos, El Segundo, California, recently added Function Code 47 to his resume after successfully completing the new on-line training developed by EAA and the FAA. It is believed Hayos is the first person to complete the online course to attain the FC 47 designation, which allows existing AB DARs to become light-sport aircraft DARs.
EAA’s Earl Lawrence and Joe Norris were part of the industry team that helped develop the on-line course, along with FAA project manager Van Stumpner of the FAA Light-Sport Aircraft Branch. Having the course online allows AB-DARs to become certified FC 47 DARs without having to attend the three-day initial course in Oklahoma City.
AB-DARs interested in adding FC 47 to their aircraft certification authorization should call either Van Stumpner (405-954-3668) or Edsel Ford (405-954-3665) of the Light-Sport Aviation Branch. |
